“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,”
James 1:19 NIV
I believe God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason. To listen twice is much as we speak. I heard TD Jakes say it a long time ago: “If you’re the smartest person at your table your table is too small.”
Every one needs a coach. And it’s what you’ve learned, after you know all, that really counts.
If you’re going to finish strong, you have to be coachable. Being coachable is a humbling thing. It’s trusting another to take you through pain, to get your gain. You must be hungry and thirsty to grow and learn. You must allow another person to call for the greatness they see in you, even when you don’t see it in yourself.
Who’s your coach? Who’s at your table that’s smarter than you? Who do you trust enough to call for your greatness, by taking you through the pain to get your gain?
If you’re going to finish strong. Sometimes you have to just SHUT UP, LISTEN & FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!
